Reiki Methods

Hands on Healing

Hands are placed on the animal's "energy centers," or chakras, to open them and restore them to balance. When a hands on approach is taken, a fixed set of hand positions start at the head and work down to the paws, hoofs, etc. In a healing session, most dogs and cats prefer to sit or lie down either on the floor, or on my lap. For horses or livestock, it is best if the owner is present with them to provide reassurance, and the treatments are usually carried out with the animal standing up. This is a gentle process that most animals find soothing and welcoming.

Distance Healing

Rushing Rabbit Reiki provides an alternate session option of distance healing. A highly effective method, with your animal receiving all the benefits from the comfort of their own surroundings. As Reiki is pure energy it is not subject to the limitations of time or space, it travels across a room or to the other side of the world or to wherever it is directed by the practitioner. Some animals will be nervous, aggressive or just simply prefer not to be touched by strangers; they will often be more comfortable receiving the Reiki from a distance. Distant sessions are just as effective as in person "hands on" treatments and are also quick to schedule; e.g., emergency situations.

Required Number of Sessions

The number of sessions required depends on the individual animal and the seriousness of their health issue. The results of a single session are usually noticed soon after a treatment or over the following several days to a week. Deeper or longer-standing challenges, e.g., surgery recovery, may take several treatments to begin the healing shift.
